How we fit
Sentinel and yourcompliance platform.
Before SOC 2, not instead of it. Compliance platforms run the checklist. Sentinel reads your code for personal data. They do different jobs and sit side by side.
Where each one sits
Four stages, four different jobs.
You build
Your code, your users’ data.
Sentinel
Reads the code for personal-data and key leaks, gives the fixes, and issues a dated Privacy-Ready badge.
Compliance platform
Vanta, Drata or Sprinto: policies, access reviews, vendor checks and the checklist an auditor will use.
CPA audit
A licensed CPA firm audits you and issues the SOC 2 report.
What your compliance platform does
- Tracks policies, training, access reviews and vendors.
- Connects to your cloud and identity tools to collect evidence.
- Pulls in vulnerability results from security scanners it partners with. Those results are about security bugs, not where personal data goes.
- Gets you ready for, and through, the audit.
What Sentinel does
- Reads your code on a sealed machine with the network off, then shreds it.
- Finds personal data heading into logs, analytics, AI prompts, URLs, browser storage and error reports, plus keys and open data access.
- Gives the exact fix for each finding.
- Issues a dated, checkable Privacy-Ready badge you can show before the audit.
Plainly
Three things we want to be clear about.
Only a licensed CPA firm can issue a SOC 2 report. Sentinel is pre-SOC 2 readiness work; it never substitutes for the audit.
Sending Sentinel results into Vanta or Drata is on the roadmap, not built. Today you share the report and the badge’s verify page.
Vanta, Drata and Sprinto are named here so you know where we fit. We are not affiliated with them.
